The mission of the Birmingham Center for Affordable Housing is to be a catalyst and resource which helps people increase their access to affordable housing, creating viable, self-directed communities.
The Birmingham Center for Affordable Housing was created in 2004 as a HUD-approved comprehensive housing counseling agency. With a small but skilled and dedicated staff, the Center has gained national recognition for its work in assisting first-time homebuyers to purchase and retain their homes. The Center provides comprehensive housing counseling services including:
• Homeownership education
• Pre- and post-purchase counseling for first-time homebuyers
• Financial literacy training
• Individual credit and budget counseling
• Foreclosure Prevention counseling
